When the Teacher Leaves the Classroom
When I was thirteen years old, at the end of my first year at High
School, we were all in our class waiting for the bell to ring.
When the bell rang it meant class would begin – the teacher would
address the class and we would learn.
But in this particular day something different took place!
Approximately thirty pupils were in our class and as typical students
go, there was total classroom chaos until the bell would ring.
The bell rang and we assumed our classroom composure expecting the
teacher to be also in her place at the front. Suddenly, we realised it
was not our usual teacher but rather a substitute!
Within minutes contraband and similar forbidden activities were
rife in total disregard for the substitute teacher.
The substitute started to demand us to sit down and be quiet, but
no-one was listening, no-one cared. Why? Because when the real Teacher
is not in the classroom the pupils go wild!
Although what I share with you was just one of my days at school.
Comparatively speaking, similar things happen within the church today!
When it’s time to take up our place in the “Spiritual Classroom” we
look to the one who is addressing the class, like the substitute,
Instead of maturing more in the Holy Spirit, it becomes another day of
missing the true reason why we come together.
Like the classroom, a stereo type can take their position at the
front sharing their seven points of “How to do it!” But no-one is
taking heed! Mobile phone texts are coming and going on silent ring.
Notes being passed and the offering not even lifted yet!
Then you see the wink, the sparkle in the eye, the ‘am not
interested’ but yet they really are. Church in many instances have
become a cattle ring, who’s looking, she is, put the offer in am
This all tells me that they deem something more important is going
on in their lives. But how can this be if they are in a meeting with
someone preaching? Simply, the real Teacher has left the classroom!
Who is the real Teacher according to the Bible?
Are you aware that the anointing is a Teacher? Throughout the Bible
there are many stories when the presence of God is manifested, which
we call anointing! People are captivated as the Master’s love consumed
For example, look at Saul who was Paul! He was single-minded in his
focus that he had only one goal in his life. Destroy the Church of the
Living God! (Acts 8 & 7) How can you reach such a person that has been
taught by Gamaliel a doctor of the Jewish Law, the best in that day?
Ask Paul any question about the Jewish Law and he could have answered
you and tied you in knots, as so to speak!
But ask him about what had taken place to him on the road to
Damascus his response was, “What would you have me to do?”
That day the anointing came like a flood and it took his feet from
under him! Paul was on the ground, for the first time stopped in his
tracks, defeated and not knowing what to do.
He knew the letter but not the Spirit of the Letter!
We must never substitute the real Teacher for a lesser. Jesus died
for us to carry the anointing. For those of us who seek to pay the
price of dying to self, not only will we carry the anointing but we
will learn how the anointing will carry us!
When we know the Spirit and the flow of the anointing the kids will
sit up, behave and learn!
That day in the school classroom we were messing so bad that we
never heard the real teacher come into the class. Immediately the
class got quiet, students took their seats, books and pens were at the
ready and guess what? The teacher still had not even spoken!
The anointing carries you from revelation to revelation. It
straightens that which is crooked and enforces that which is correct.
A verse that for many has been misunderstood now might make more
sense to you!
1st John 2:27 (The Message)
I've written to warn you about those who are trying to deceive
you. But they're no match for what is embedded deeply within
you—Christ's anointing, no less! You don't need any of their so-called
teaching. Christ's anointing teaches you the truth on everything you
need to know about yourself and him, uncontaminated by a single lie.
Live deeply in what you were taught
It’s the anointing of the Holy Spirit that will lead and guide you
into all Truth. Seek to align yourself with the anointing and as you
do, you will be letting the real teacher take His place. The anointing
will bear witness to you that which is right or wrong. As 1st John
2:27 says, never become dependent on a man to teach you when Scripture
says, “The anointing will teach you!”
Let me balance this out… The offices of the five-fold ministry are
not something that was set in place for us to be dependent on. More
so, they are there to confirm that which the Lord has already shown
Like the stone masons who built the temple. The noise of a hammer
was not allowed in or near the temple. Each stone had to be carved
away from the temple. And when brought to the temple they fitted
“And when the house, when it was in building, was built of stone
made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither
hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was
in the building.” 1st Kings 6:7
Each day as we abide in Him, surrendering to the anointing, the
Lord would be shaping us, revealing how well we fit together when we
meet. When the anointing leads, we will be made one in Him.
Concluding, asking ourselves a question, “Has the Teacher left the
If so, seek again to align yourself up with the best Teacher, for
Jesus Himself said, “When He (Holy Spirit/Anointing) comes He shall
guide you into all Truth!”
